Pediatrics and Prenatal Care

Pediatric Chiropractic

Dr. Kim devotes her time to two practices, one here in Diamond Bar and a second practice in Santa Maria. Her practice in Santa Maria is located in an office with three OBGYNs and an osteopath. Her patient base in this office consists of primarily women in their third trimester of pregnancy. This patient base means that she treats more pregnant patients in one hour than most other chiropractors see in a week. These pregnant patients subsequently become postpartum patients and infant patients. Frequently other siblings also become patients as well as a number of dads and even some grandparents.

Dr. Kim brings her experience with high and low risk pregnancies to the practice here in Diamond Bar. She provides her patients not only with chiropractic care but also information on numerous topics that can affect the health of mom and baby. She accepts most major insurances and offers early and late hours for working individuals.

Dr. Kim maintains a certification in Webster Technique, as well as International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association membership. She is currently working on her diplomat in pediatrics.

Prenatal

During pregnancy a number of conditions commonly arise, the three most frequent conditions being low back pain, sciatica and headaches. Chiropractic care can help prevent and treat these common conditions of pregnancy as well as many others.

During prenatal care Dr. Kim also discusses a number of health care options you may wish to consider during your pregnancy, labor and in the future for your child.

Not only does proper spinal alignment help prevent a number of these pregnancy related conditions but it also helps to decrease the time spent in labor and reduce intrauterine constraint that can prevent infants from positioning properly for delivery resulting in a breech birth.

Infants

Birth, whether it is a home birth, hospital birth or anything in between puts a tremendous amount of stress on the young developing spine. This stress can cause misalignments in the spine that result in conditions such as torticollis, colic, and poor eating and sleeping habits. Frequently chiropractic can assist in resolving issues such as these and many others.
